A beBee CelebrationToo early? Not in my dreams.  And I have a recipe for you.
I took a tumble the other day and cracked a rib, etc. I’m an opponent of painkillers, so my way to deal with the pain is to sleep—a pleasant recourse as my dreams have been vivid and filled with pleasure.
I woke from a Thanksgiving dream yesterday.
In it, I was younger—young enough to tackle the preparation of three turkeys—two with American stuffing and one with my father-in-law’s “Greek” stuffing. It was really Turkish, but he let us believe it was his own unique recipe. The ingredients are below:
“Leo the Lion’s Greek Stuffing
Large onion
Two and a half pounds hamburger
½ stick butter
salt and pepper to taste
half pound rice
1box bell seasoning mix
½ cup sugar
1 ½ cups Italian bread crumbs
½ small can tomato paste’
1 two ounce jar pine nuts
½ chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins
½ bunch celery
½ bunch chopped parsley
2 pounds shelled chestnuts
(Place the chestnuts on a cookie sheet, scored with a cross and heat until edges fold up allowing chestnuts to be shelled.)
Sauté Hamburg, rice, and onions until it drinks up the juices and moistens up.
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add tomato paste and stir
Set aside.
Mix rest of ingredients and blend with the sautéed mix.
Pour about 4 cups of water until just moist
Stuff turkey
He’s gone now. But his stuffing lives on.

The atmosphere was festive. Cliché? Yes, but true. I emerged into the kitchen with my three turkeys lined up on the stove. I had staged the event on a Saturday to accommodate people’s needs to enjoy this occasion with their families on Thanksgiving proper.
John White, MBA sat at the table in my kitchen. He took on the task of turkey-carver-in-chief. (Hope you didn’t mind, John. Someone had to do it, and you volunteered.)

The rounded walnut table sported one turkey at a time; the others resting on my big stove across the room. John carved the turkey expertly for beBeers, while I swung through the kitchen preparing other items. The back door revolved with beBeers and folks with which I worked. Faces sat at the other side of the table I did not recognize, coddling their children. There were people and children everywhere, and I was content to let them go on their way, sitting in my large dining room and living room. Bill Stankiewicz, 🐝 Brand Ambassador‘s smile took over as a greeting with Lisa 🐝 Gallagher by his side.  And yes, Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee.  You were there, too.
Feeding so many people felt like a calling, much like it must have been for my in-laws as we sat at the table in shifts to accommodate incoming family. In my dream, people meandered through all my rooms.
The task absorbed me. I rushed to make forgotten gravy and other fixin’s abounded.

It was a wonderful day, and I woke with a smile.
